Key points on the table for discussion to upgrade this wonderful hideaway location :
- to Improve irrigation of the area which is not served by TOEB (agricultural water authority) of Pano Merambello - rural areas of *Mirabello Bay. This includes Milatos.
- Improvement of daily life issues as part of the current discussions of re-establishing the Milatos Community as a recognised entity
- Improvement of the OTE (telephone service) and terrestrial digital TV signals, Both of which are currently in need of upgrades.
Mayor Zervos, said that the issues raised by the residents of Milatos are already in the proposals of the community of Vrachasi of which Milatos is part, and will be continue in consultation with the community of Vrachasi itself.
Is Milatos hoping for greater autonomy? Will it boost property prices? A good question as improvements mentioned are major considerations.
Milatos is an upmarket enclave and a gem of a little resort that has just one five star hotel, a pretty little harbour, great eateries on the shoreline and an away- from-it-all feel about it. It is accessed by windy roads from Vrahassi, Neapolis and Sissi. Canny Dutch, Germans, Swiss and Brits have made the upper village and surrounding area and converted olive groves into their residences. Most have renovated or built new homes in an unspoilt environment.
