A "Tongue-In-Cheek ODE TO BIC
"I FOUND THIS EX-PAT RABBLE QUITE BY CHANCE
AND HOPED MY LIFE, ON CRETE, THEY’D ENHANCE
I ASKED A FEW Q’s AND GOT BACK A FEW A’s.
LIFTING MY SPIRITS WHILST COUNTING THE DAYS
QUESTIONS ON HOUSING, ANIMALS AND DAMP
IF I STAY IN THE SUN, WILL I GET CRAMP?
IS LIFE SO MUCH BETTER IN THE SOUTH MED?
WHO CARES, ONE DAY WE’LL ALL BE DEAD
IS THE SEA WET? DO THE CLOUDS HIDE THE SUN?
CAN YOU BUY BROWN SAUCE WITH CHIPS IN A BUN?
WILL I BE EATEN OR JUST OR JUST GNAWED AT THE EDGES?
(IF THEY DON’T SELL CHIPS, WHAT ABOUT WEDGES?)
WHEN THE QUESTIONS ARE DULL OR WE’RE IN A BAD MOOD
WE TURN ON SOMEONE, WE SO WANT TO BE CRUDE.
WE WANT TO BE CHILDISH AND SAY HOW WE FEEL
BUT WITH GERALD (NEW ADMIN) THAT’S NOT THE DEAL
I PEN THIS CRAPPY ODE FOR ALL TO READ ON THIS SITE
NOT FOR POSITIVE REPLIES OR TO START A BIG FIGHT
NO, I WANT TO MAKE ONE THING GO AWAY IN A BLINK
HUNDRED-PLUS POSTS TO STOP MY NAME BEING PINK"

Remarks in Norwegian by ofriis a member of: "Forum › Om Hellas › Flytte til Hellas › Opps, vi kjøpte hus. Undertittel: "Ni är galna" ... Etter en stund på kontoret hos Stelios, der han kom med mange praktiske opplysninger om hus i gamlebyen, gikk turen til advokaten. Stelios tok bilen, en jeep-lignende sak, for advokaten holdt til på andre siden av byen. Etter å ha ventet en lang stund på å få slippe ut i hovedgaten kjørte han bare rett ut og splittet køen. ”It’s the only way” sa han. Advokaten, som viste å være en dame, holdt til i et stort betongkompleks på Igoumenou Gavriil. Chara Liandri-Werner het hun og her kan dere se henne på nett:
En flott dame med bilder av familien på kontoret. Sekretæren het Soula, hun hadde sort hår og smilte hele tiden.
Thanks to the Norwegian language community board at the http://hellasforum.net/ for linking to Chara Liandri-Werner's web page at Brits in Crete. April 10, 2009.

Brits in Crete Forum was off line April 16 - April 27, 2007 due to a dispute between our then domain name registrar and their supplier of web hosting server capacity. We recovered from what looked like a total loss of the web files with the extraordinary help and technical support of Legend/Thus PLC, and the staff at their subsidiary Designer Servers Ltd based in Lancaster. We were happy to become a direct client of theirs. Our members made their loyalty clear:

"Brits in Crete.co.uk" Feedback
This site is another gem in the Cretan web world. If you've done a Google or Yahoo search about Crete, chances are you've landed squarely upon this hugely informative site. Most of the information featured on BritsInCrete has been forged through the sweat and tears of trial, error and wisely directed effort. Members of the site's forum are treated to correct and thorough answers to their questions from a multitude of really smart British people. This is the site the real James Bond (Sean Connery) would use if he had a mission to Crete."
